Karnataka
Health Promotion Trust is a partnership between the Karnataka
State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS) and the University
of Manitoba, Canada. KSAPS is the government body implementing
the National AIDS Control Organization’s (NACO) National AIDS
Control Programme in Karnataka.
University of Manitoba is the chief executing agency for the Bill
and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Project for scaling up of
HIV prevention in Karnataka (SANKALP).
Objectives of KHPT:

To support activities in the areas of reproductive health
and HIV and AIDS
-
To support activities and projects that will lead to the
enhanced health and well being of individuals and communities
in India.

To link with other organizations involved in improving
health and well being in similar areas.

To promote, develop and support prevention projects for
people at risk of HIV and AIDS
- To
promote, develop and support care and support projects
for people living with HIV and AIDS

To communicate learnings regarding programmes and practices
in these areas with the general public and other shareholders
- The
benefit of the Trust shall be open to all irrespective
of caste, creed or religion
- To
do all such things including participating in business,
as the Trust may decide from time to time, for the welfare
of the Trust and in pursuance of the above objectives
of the Trust
- To
assist any Trust, Society, Association, Club and Individual
who is rendering any of the above services, either by
providing funds or material support, or directly working
along with them
- To
provide funds to various organizations in India to implement
their projects pertaining especially to HIV and AIDS programming
