Capacity Building
Capacity' refers to the competencies and capabilities of an environment, organization, group or individual, that is necessary to effect action. 'Capacity Building' refers to the process of increasing the specific abilities, skills, awareness and knowledge necessary to achieve the competencies and capabilities to effect action.

Capacity building of NGOs to support their outreach and peer education programmes is one of the main components of the project. In addition, KHPT also supports sex worker collectives.

NGO support
Karnataka Health Promotion Trust provides and facilitates a range of support, capacity building and technical assistance to its partners in order to:

• Ensure a high standard of information and services to all end users throughout the KHPT Districts.
• Build KHPT partners capacity and ensure efficiency and accountability.

Both of these are crucial to long-term sustainability of the project.
