The Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT), invites applications from committed development professionals for the following positions;

1. Regional Manager (STI, HIV Care & Surveillance): Positions: Karnataka & Maharashtra: Belgaum -1 and Pune: 1

MBBS and MD in Community Medicine /Dermatology/Pediatrics/General Medicine/OBG with public health experience of at least 2-3 years. The Regional Managers should have ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, required to set up, monitor and mainstream services for vulnerable and high-risk population groups, train different categories of service providers and manage basic research. Preference will be given to those with experience in HIV /AIDS.

Above positions demand excellent communication /computer skills and involves travel. Preferences will be given to candidates who have work experience with Govt/ NGOs / Development sectors and speak local languages i.e Marathi (Pune) and Kannada (Belgaum)

India Health Action Trust invites application from committed development professionals for position(s) for Karnataka TSU (Technical Support Unit). TSU is supported by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). The main objective is to support state HIV/AIDS programs, particularly the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS) in the areas of targeted intervention, strategic planning, Capacity building and IEC .

1. Position: TEAM LEADER (Targeted Intervention)

Qualification and Experience :

Masters in Social Science / MD with 4 to 6 years of experience in managing targeted intervention programs with the core and non core groups.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to SACS for timely roll-out of the TI projects as planned in the Annual Action Plan.
  • Assist SACS to realign TI intervention areas based on latest mapping data to ensure programs are evidence-based.
  • Establish systems to ensure that TI functions as per the national guidelines and periodically monitor TIs and grade performance.
  • Undertake regular field visits to assess quality of work of TI projects, adherence to NACP-III / SACS guidelines and provide onsite technical support.
  • Supervise the work of TI Project Officers and provide technical and managerial guidance for conducting their work efficiently
  • Provide technical support to strengthen the systems within SACS for timely release of funds to TIs
  • Provide regular feedback on reports received from Program officers and TIs
  • Monitor the core output indicators (ICTC, STI and condom usage) of NACP III with SACS TI division and provide regular supportive supervision to the POs and TIs to achieve the output indicators
  • Ensure, regular condom supply by working with Condom Social Marketing Organizations
  • Provide support to the Team leader capacity building in developing the TI curriculum, training manuals.
  • Evolve mechanisms with TI division SACS to establish better linkages between Link Workers Program and existing TI programs in the state.
  • Assist SACS to ensure 100% CMIS reporting by TI NGOs.
  • Conduct periodic reviews, and update SACS, stakeholders on the progress of TI programs in the state.
  • Provide technical support to SACS for documenting best practices on TI programs in the state.
  • Periodically update SACS on the fiscal and programmatic achievements for the TI component and suggest action plans for increasing expenditure and improving performance.
  • Coordinate reviews of the monthly plans by PD, SACS with TI division SACS and TSU team.
  • Provide technical support to TIs with a minimum of 10 days on the field. A detailed tour report to be submitted on a daily basis and complete report within 3 days of completion of tour.
  • Identify and develop linkages between TIs for HIV services viz. ICTC, STI clinics, ART centres and CCC.
  • Ensure, regular condom supply by working with Condom Social Marketing Organizations.

Reporting to: The position holder will be reporting to the Team Leader – TSU on all issues associated with his/her work responsibilities.

2. Position: PROGRAM OFFICER – STI

Qualification and Experience : MBBS/ postgraduate in OBG/ Paediatrics/ Dermatology/ P&SM with 2-4 years of clinical experience / Public Health Experience after MBBS. Passion to work for the cause of HIV /AIDS, openness to work with the communities vulnerable for HIV, readiness to travel and relocate oneself is expected

Duties and responsibilities :

  • To visit all the designated clinic and preferred providers in the district at least once every two month .
  • Supervise and mentor every provider and designated clinic staffs for recording and reporting.
  • Monitors patient wise prescription for quality of diagnosis and treatment given to patients through documentation audit. Any gaps identified are corrected and provider receives on site tutoring on correct syndromic case management .
  • Provides ongoing skill building and clinical support to the non MBBS providers for imparting good quality STI/RTI care to the HRG and provide supervision in drug dispensing.
  • Provides necessary support to the TI NGO in selection and placement of the preferred providers in the TI Intervention area and also provide capacity building support to all the TI NGO staffs .
  • Coordinates with the private providers of the clients of the HRG and provides mentoring and ensures timely reporting from them. Scrutinizes the monthly report sent to SACS. Performs data analysis and provides epidemiological pattern of STI/RTI in the community. Facilitate TIs in report compilation from all the providers and sending monthly reports in CMIS format. Responsible for regular data flow to SACS/NACO .
  • Supervises the drug and condom logistics and prevents drug and condom stock outs in the district.
  • Works closely with the STI focal person in SACS and provide all necessary support in strengthening STI programme in the state .
  • All field visits would be followed up with a detailed tour report to be submitted on a daily basis and a detailed report within 3 days of completion of tour .
