Monitoring & evaluation
Monitoring is a process through which we track the progress of our project and generate learnings for improving implementation. Conducted at short and continuous intervals, monitoring assists us in directing the intervention along its stated path.
Evaluation is a process to judge the achievements against what has been promised, or against performance in an earlier period, or performance by someone else. It is about measuring the effectiveness of the project. It assesses the impact of the project on the field, whether its goals have been met, or if there are signs of change towards achieving the goals. Evaluation exercises are usually conducted annually, or after longer periods, to enable the impacts, or signs thereof to emerge.
