Deputy Director, Technology and Innovation

Akash Raman, Deputy Director for Technology and Innovations at KHPT, identifies himself as a social innovator, entrepreneur, and a technologist.

Akash has managed diverse projects and programs in highly entrepreneurial environments. He has made grants at Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives – a large philanthropic foundation, led strategy and operations at Oodio – a startup that he co-founded, and designed and implemented a “Changemaker” program for Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. He has also served as a visiting faculty at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. Akash has been recognized with several awards during his career for leadership and entrepreneurship.

In his present role at KHPT, Akash integrates technology and business principles in the organization’s programs to increase their coverage, efficiency, and impact. Currently, he works with the Nutrition, Tuberculosis, Non-communicable Diseases, and Adolescent girls programs.

Akash earned his MBA from Foster School of Business, University of Washington – Seattle, MS in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University – Boston, and BE Honors in Electronics and Instrumentation from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, Goa.
