Technical Advisor, Knowledge
A social scientist with extensive experience with the United Nations and other funding and implementing agencies, Senthil Murugan leads IHAT’s learning and sharing initiatives, including Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Societie’s Technical Support Unit (TSU).
He has worked with grassroots communities, particularly those most at risk of acquiring and transmitting HIV. He has developed national policies and strategies for high risk groups (HRGs), studied the socio-economic condition of female sex workers (FSWs) and their children, and managed HIV prevention programmes in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
He has a Master’s in Social Work from the Madras School of Social Work, Madras University.
