Deputy Director, Quality Improvement and Quality of life

Dr. Swaroop, currently working as a Deputy Director – Quality Improvement and Quality of life at KHPT. He has many years of experience in a wide range of projects covering non-communicable diseases, reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health. He has significantly contributed to the innovative onsite mentoring intervention to improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes across 385 Primary Health Centres and First Referral Units in the eight High Priority Districts of northern Karnataka.

Presently, he is working on a W.H.O funded project that focuses on developing a model to accelerate implementation of Kangaroo Mother Care at a population level in Koppal District. He has also taken a lead in conceptualizing and implementing a pilot project on select non-communicable diseases in Mysuru.  The aim of this project is to identify the gaps in diagnosis, care and treatment of diabetes and hypertension and develop a model to promote early screening, early enrolment to care and support mechanism, regular follow-up and adherence to medications.

Dr Swaroop has a postgraduate degree in Community Health.
