JSW Foundation, in partnership with KHPT, launched the project ‘Humraahi’ – a comprehensive initiative that aims to improve the holistic health and well-being of JSW-affiliated truck drivers and their families in Karnataka. The launch was held on 18 November 2025 at Toranagallu, Ballari.

Mrs Sangeetha Jindal, Chairperson of JSW Foundation, inaugurated the ‘Sarathi Vishram Vatika’, a dedicated drop-in centre designed to offer truck drivers a safe space to rest, refresh, connect, and access essential health services. Mrs Jindal also unveiled the project logo, ‘Humraahi’.

Project HUMRAAHI focuses on promoting healthy behaviours and improving access to integrated health services, including NCDs (diabetes and hypertension), HIV, TB, vector-borne diseases, common mental health conditions, and eye health. The initiative strengthens workplace safety through behaviour change communication, digital health systems, and continuous on-ground support. Implemented across four JSW truck yards in the Sandur region, the project follows a phased expansion model. It also promotes road safety, women’s entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community empowerment to enhance the quality of life for truck drivers and their families.

A team from KHPT, including Dr Swaroop N, Thematic Lead-NCD; Mr Raghavendra T, Technical Advisor; and project staff, joined the event and supported the successful launch. As the implementing partner, KHPT will continue to provide technical expertise, community engagement, capacity building, and system strengthening to ensure the project’s long-term impact.
