In a significant step toward strengthening India’s public health ecosystem, the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management–Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T) and KHPT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration on initiatives aimed at improving public health nutrition and community well-being.

This partnership marks a shared commitment to bridge academic research with ground-level implementation—ensuring that scientific insights and innovations directly benefit communities, particularly in the areas of nutrition, food safety, and public health. NIFTEM-T will help build capacity of Food Business Operators to scale-up food fortification & amplify reach of quality-assured fortified staples to achieve the required impact i.e. improved nutritional status at the population level.

MoU was handed over to KHPT and NIFTEM-T by Shri. Chirag Paswan, Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Industries of India (MoFPI) at World Food India Expo 2025 on 26th  September 2025 at Delhi.
