
Dr. Sanghamitra Savadatti is the thematic lead for Health for the Urban Vulnerable, an ecosystem vertical at KHPT that aims to bridge global best practices with local innovations, stakeholder engagement, systems strengthening, and citizen ownership to address emerging and evolving health priorities of vulnerable urban populations in India.
She holds an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a DrPH from the University at Albany (USA). With over 18 years of experience in public health, her expertise spans cross-functional team leadership, strategic program planning and design, operational decision-making, program monitoring, teaching, mentoring, and research across diverse geographies and health systems.
Sanghamitra also serves as a Research Assistant Professor at the University at Albany’s College of Integrated Health Sciences, where she teaches and advises graduate students. Her previous experience includes directing The Banyan’s Centre for Mental Health and Inclusive Development, where she focused on community-based inclusive living services for homeless populations experiencing psychosocial distress. As Assistant Director at the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology, she provided strategic, scientific, and administrative leadership while working on federally funded grants focused on biomonitoring, and environmental exposures and health outcomes.
