The colloquium began with a compelling skit performed by the Spoorthi Role Model girls from Yadgir district who had been traned by Mr. Srinivas on interactive theatre methods to inculcate decision-making and negotiation skills. Their skit addressed the pervasive issue of gender bias and discrimination against female children from birth.

Mr. Srinivas skilfully illustrated how theatre can be an instrument for social change through examples. The conversation focused on the ways that theatre could be used to influence people’s views and mindsets, either as a powerful force for social change or just as a means of amusement. Mr. Srinivas stressed that theater could foster social activists in the community who could use theater as a forum to encourage changes in the behaviour of the public.

The discussion also included on topics such as the implications of theatre in policy creation, a tool for comprehending ground realities, gathering data, and soliciting second opinions. He further discussed the uses of incorporating theatre into professional courses, to enhance communication skills to create profound connection and understanding of people, rendering interactions more fruitful.

The colloquium concluded with a round of questions and discussions on the popularity of theatre and its relevance today
