KHPT participated in the Delivering for Nutrition in South Asia 2025 (D4N2025) conference, held from December 2–4 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The convening brought together experts, policymakers, researchers, and development partners to deliberate on solutions that can improve nutrition outcomes at scale, spanning health, agrifood, market, education, WASH, and social protection systems.

The regional event focused on translating proven interventions into sustained, large-scale delivery, recognizing that effective nutrition action depends on systems-strengthening, leadership, financing, and accountability.

Representing KHPT, Mihika Wakhloo, Program Manager, presented an oral abstract in Thematic Session 3B: Harnessing Social Protection to Improve Dietary & Nutrition Outcomes. The presentation titled, “Institutionalising Fortified Wheat Flour in Himachal Pradesh’s Public Distribution System: An Implementation Experience to Address Anaemia,” highlighted KHPT’s collaboration with the Government of Himachal Pradesh to integrate fortified wheat flour within the Public Distribution System (PDS), benefitting vulnerable populations.

Key insights shared included implementation strategies, stakeholder engagement, industry capacity-building, compliance monitoring, and lessons on sustainability. The presentation reinforced the role of social protection systems such as PDS in improving micronutrient intake and advancing nutrition equity at scale.
