KHPT shares strategies to address malnutrition among adolescent girls through dissemination workshops in Koppal and Bengaluru

KHPT organized a dissemination workshop in Koppal and Bengaluru on March 21 and 26 respectively, to facilitate discussions and share experiences related to activities conducted through a three-year nutrition project supported by HT Parekh Foundation.

The workshop in Koppal was attended by officials from the Health, Women and Child Development departments, local NGOs, adolescent girls, and women. The discussions focused on KHPT’s strategies for addressing immediate malnutrition and collaborating with local government staff and frontline workers to reduce the underlying causes of malnutrition. The government officials shared on-the-ground issues and their experiences with the project. They also engaged with the girls to understand their challenges and assured them of support. The girls presented an Intimate Interactive Theatre show highlighting the difficulties faced by adolescent girls and issues related to child marriage. A gallery walk, featuring Information Education and Communication materials developed through the project, was also organized for the participants.

In Bengaluru, the dissemination workshop was attended by the central team of KHPT, project staff from Koppal, the CEO and senior management team of the HT Parekh Foundation, and other NGO representatives. The project’s nutrition model, strategies, and end-line quantitative and qualitative survey results of the three-year project were presented, along with the learnings and challenges. The participants also interacted with three adolescent girls involved in the project. The girls shared their experiences ofbeing part of the project, and their efforts to change their eating habits to healthier ones.
