KHPT and Central TB Division host National Workshop on Best Practices in Community Engagement for Ending TB

The Central TB Division (CTD), KHPT and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted a national workshop on ‘Best Practices in Community Engagement for Ending TB’ from September 14-15 in New Delhi.

The objective of the workshop was to facilitate cross-sharing and learning of innovations and best practices from across the states on community engagement, person-centric approaches, and Panchayat Raj Institution engagement, which can help shape the community engagement strategy for TB elimination in India.

Over two days, states which had their best practices shortlisted made oral presentations in sessions presided over by an eminent chairperson and panelists including senior leadership from the CTD technical experts, development and program implementation professionals from the government and partner organizations, as well as community members and TB Champions. A compendium of best practices was released, which collated successful TB program experiences across the different states of India. This compendium will serve as a source of reference and inspiration to all states and Union Territories to engage with communities in ending TB in India.
