A joint team from KHPT, the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), and the Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers (IFAT) was selected for and successfully completed the World Health Organization (WHO) training on the Urban Health Capacity Assessment and Response Resource Kit.
The four-week training programme, conducted through online sessions, focused on strengthening capacities to systematically assess and respond to the health and well-being needs of vulnerable populations in urban settings. Dr. Sanghamitra Savadatti from KHPT’s Urban Health team and Dr. Manoj Kumar Pati from the Respiratory Health team participated in the programme.
The collaboration brought together PHFI’s expertise in public health research and policy, IFAT’s understanding of the lived experiences of app-based workers, and KHPT’s experience in community mobilisation, urban health programming, and government engagement.
The training further strengthens the KHPT–PHFI–IFAT partnership and supports ongoing efforts to advance inclusive urban health approaches, climate resilience, and the health and well-being of informal workers.
